Campsite booking sites??

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Perez_In_Wales, Aug 26, 2020.

  1. Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone has heard of pitchup.com? I stumbled on them yesterday as I'm looking to find a reliable site to book the odd weekend away. It seems to have everything in place and you can select to show campervan pitches, elec hookups etc.

Has anyone tried it or are there any recommendations for other similar sites??

    Cheers,
    Perez

For gawd sake don't start booking camp sites through a third party! This is one thing that does not need some pointless ***** creaming off a %.

Yes, we used pitchup.com recently. Found a lovely site near Hastings (review added in the Sussex section). Booking was easy enough

It’s useful for looking at campsites in a area along with the prices, then I book direct with the site.

  6. I've used pitchup both for scoping out sites and reading reviews before booking direct or when doing a hastle free booking whilst on the move (especially when it says "1 pitch left" - yoink!)

  7. pitchup.com is fine under present circumstances. Normally I'd just turn up and they find me a place - rarely fails.

  9. Sometimes I find it is worth paying a few quid for peace of mind. Missus and I went to a place last month which was pretty dross and we knew getting our money back would have ended up in fistycuffs... The large pile of scrap metal and bins overflowing with nappies on entry made quite the impression on us!

Find the place you want on Pitchup and then contact them directly - it is usually cheaper and also cheaper for the campsite, especially if it is a small independent. Alos, pitchup might not have all of the up to date COVID restrictions stated (eg. no showers or toilets at the moment)

  14. I understand your concerns but I've never paid in advance . Find a site on one of the many websites and give them a call ...
