Camping interior, how do you rate yours?

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Majorhangover, Oct 21, 2012.

  1. How do you get on with your vans interior?

    What would improve it?

Whats does it need, whats it got that it doesn't need?

I love my swing out cooker its really handy, but i'm in need of more storage, so I shall be knocking up another couple of little units.

So, What do you think of yours?

  3. That's really nice matty, was it difficult, i'm thinking of making my own for my van but have never done any interior work and i'm a bit of a perfectionist so if i can't make it look professional, i won't bother.

  4. My interior was something I knocked up in a day earlier in the year just so we could use it through the summer. I'm not a massive fan at all really. I'd like an interior that's funky and a bit "shabby chic" if you get my meaning but I'm not totally decided on how that will look yet.

i have to confess the westy continental set up is a little cramped for me Lou and Will -- i won't change it but i have been thinking of taking the sink unit out .

Love mine. 8) I have to say that though.

  8. Nice that Matty. Ours is a standard original Devon eurovette. It doesn't work for us, sleeping is ok, day living isn't great though.

    Thanks for the comments
I based it on later t25 Devon we had, vanworks and revtec do one similar
I made it out of light weight board that they use in modern mortorhomes
It was not too hard to make the hardest part was getting the carcus to fit the contours of the van.

I am thinking of changing the rear walldrobe door for a roller door to help access

  10. Very nice looking interior matty, The Rivieras had roller doors on their rear wardrobes

  13. Ours seems to be good for our requirements, but I could do with not being quite so fat.

The 3/4 bed is a bit tight

Mine is perfect as you know :) but it could do with a fridge if I have to add one more thing. And I suppose a reading light over the bed.

This winter may see me revamp some cupboards to make them even neater. That TFAB draw we made is a work of genius and more practical than it looks.

  17. i need to do more camping in ine to find out.
at the moment i'd rate it as *cold*, but i did decide to have cupboards that were removable so that i could use as a van too.
the full width bed is more of a luxury than necessity and i could do with more space to put stuff.
i'm a great believer in filling up cupboards and flat surfaces with *stuff* which is why i ensured my bus had as few as possible :D

  18. Ours works fine as long as i remember that i sleep facing the cupboard with my nose prsssed up against the door. I know my place.!!!

I think there is always going to be a compromise between storage and living space but I do like my full width bed so I reckon we'll have to put up with the lack of storage space.
    Maybe a loft conversion
