Campervan security

  1. As I await the arrival of my first camper, I'm wondering about the best security device I should buy to deter any potential scallywags from stealing it. It's going to be parked on the road outside my house (no drive).

What does everybody else use? Steering lock? Wheel lock? Alarm? Booby traps?

i've got a wheel lock on, i have a ruddy big padlock and chain from the pedals to the steering and i disconnect the battery, i figure if they want it they'll have it but that's as far as i go.

  3. Dont booby trap ..its illegal i think looool but bloody good fun
    >:D
Chains with padlock bling n engines half stripped....also go one of them steering wheel baseball bat locks....

  4. I've gone the route of having a cack battery that goes flat after a week, that way no bugger's going anywhere in it. ::)

  5. Steering lock, and used ti remove the rotor arm, now I just disconnect the battery as I've gone electronic

  6. I have a big clamp that goes on to one of the front wheels. Ours is kept on our drive but I bought it after our first bus was pushed off of our drive and stolen. It's a bit of a pain to take it off an put it on, especially in the winter but the more times that you do the better you get at it.

  7. Campervan Security.....

That's one of those phrases like "Military Intelligence" isn't it? :D

  8. I've currently got a gear lever lock fitted, but that will be going next year when it is back on the road as I want to fit an CSP or similar gear lever.

Does anyone on here use the foot pedal type locks that padlock on? I worked with a South African who was telling me that they are really popular there, they dont seem that available here so I may weld up my own.
