Hey!! I'm good looking forward to the show/camping season! How's you? Been tied up with family stuff so been missing a little bit!
All ok, just speeding up the rushing round for Christmas before the inevitable burn out by boxing day
Top Chrimbo prezzie just been opened... tickets to CamperJam in the TLB club area (sorry everyone!) from my gorgeous wife All I have to do now is get it through the MOT, plumb in the cooker/sink, make a buddy seat and finish the interior, sort out the wiring/lighting and hope for the same weather we had last year! Only 7 months to go... bring it on!
Hi @72wilma and @bernjb56 .. probably a silly question, but I'll ask anyway! Last year we booked in the family area and pitched up late on the Friday afternoon when it was a bit of a frenzy to find somewhere to camp. This year we've booked in the TLB club area and plan to arrive at opening time on Friday... how will we find the TLB area within club camping and are plots available on a first come-first served basis, or do the organisers ensure there's a plot for everyone who's booked? Don't want to arrive with wife, 13-year old daughter and her friend, our 2-year old toddler and two Labradors and then have to play 'hunt the thimble' for somewhere to pitch. Ta muchly!
When your pack arrives, (usually a week or so before) there will be a card/paper dangle with club camping and tlb written on it. When you get to the showground you'll be directed to the club camping area and the designated bit. It usually has a little wooden marker with tlb written on it. See you there!
It's bound to be their so called "house band" - sixteen stone pig, shame really as I think they are quite poor. Others seem to like them though
I'm not a fan of sixteen stone pig, they are an average pub band, but undo like the other band I think there called something beginning with k,
There are marked pitches within the club area - which give you enough room for a van plus awning. Last year we had more space than we all needed
I think this is where CamperJam falls down a bit for me. They do charge top prices for entry and should probably have at least one act that your average punter has heard of. If you took DubIsland as a comparison, they have had The Cuban Brothers and Rob da Bank, who I have at least heard of. The tickets are for 4 days and the organisers come up with some innovative ideas to keep you amused, much of which is free. Camperjam charges top money, you pay extra for all the other activities once inside (except kids colouring), it's basically an overpriced fair, show n shine, loads of trade stands and a dog show! What exactly does the price of admission go towards? The venue? I went on the wet year and had a great time, but barely left the TLB area. It's a very expensive TLB meet up.
Doing camper jam for the first time with some friends. Not got kids but not really into late partying. What's best family or general camping? Simon
'Home is where you park it' gives you a chance to pick your own spot. Last year there was loads of space there. Or come TLB camping and stick near us. We always find a quiet spot

CamperJam acts appear to be being confirmed.. Yay! Quite looking forward to seeing Navi, one of the more popular Micheal Jackson tribute acts (see below link) Oh well, it's the nearest I'll get to seeing him now I guess
