Camper insulation

  1. What's the best insulation to use in a camper?

I have a load of left over non-itchy insulation... Is this a no no?

Another hotly debated topic. I'm going with lambs wool without a vapour barrier as it doesn't need it apparantly (I'll be keeping a close eye on it though).

  3. NOT expanding foam!

    JamesLey and paradox like this.
  4. Unless its closed cell expanding foam which is used as insulation on boats
Id hate to be the person doing the welding years later if that had been used though

  5. and not too much you don't just pour it in the camper then carve your way in.

  6. So lambs wool is ok.... Does it matter if it's welsh sheep?

Best to take the wool off them first!

I got a bag of the stuff off a conversion company in Wales called Amdro. I've had to take it out of the rear panels as we had leaky windows (should be fixed from the recent resto work now) but still have it behind the main panel opposite the slider. I've checked it a few times and it's always dry so I'm going to stick with it.

  8. I used old heat resistant tiles from the space shuttle!

I put in inch thick kings span then once stuck with silicone in place I then sprayed wax oil in the gaps and then used signage board over the top. But i do store mine with a dehumidifier going for a 6 hours a day inside, which sits inside a large barn inside a full cover...
