Calling anyone with 17inch wheels on their camper

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by 12345, Nov 15, 2012.

  1. What modifications were needed (if any) I'm at standard height at the moment but looking to drop a few inches within the next year.

Can't seem to find the answer anywhere

    Thanks

  2. I'm talking 17 inch fuch alloys such as SSP or the empi ones

  3. what size tyres do you want to run ?

skinny elastic bands or chunky off road tyres

  4. Really don't mind probably whatever tyres make the overall size similar to what I've got now on the 14 inch steels I have

  5. I've come from a car with mega hard low profile tyres (255/35/18) so not scared if a hard ride

Hello 12345 my bus is running 215 x 40 tyres on 17 inch rims and i have no problems at all about the ride quality. The main thing is to have decent shocks fitted mine has spax adjustable fitted so the ride is good and corners well too.

  9. Thanks guys so standard height on these wheels I should be ok? then when I drop it like its hot they should still be fine? I would be looking at the same drop that holmsen's van has. Think I'm currently on stock springs its very standard bus at the moment

  10. widht is 5,5" . Rear is lowered by 1 outer notch on the torsion bar.
It's not my bay, belongs to a m8 of mine. Dont think tires are suitable for a fully loaded westy :(
