Calling all Brosol fuel pump owners...

  1. Worth checking the pivot shaft in the pump. Brosol did away with the circlips that held it in, thus saving 0.001 cents in manufacture. It's just an interference fit. Noticed mine was making a bid for freedom and tapped it back in. Really needs peening in. Check yours!

Couldn't you make a slightly longer pin with a groove on the end for a spring / c clip to help secure it?

  4. If I had a lathe, I'd do one in a trice!

  6. There would be a market fa them I’m sure mark or just make one with a domed end ?

  7. Don't tempt me. If I had a lathe and an old Bridgeport in the garage, my family would never see me again :)...

  10. Any Colchester’s ?

  11. It can come out either side ;). Needs a shaft with a circlip at either end, like the OEM ones.

We did have a Colchester Chipmaster (with imperial dials not metric) which was a brilliant piece of kit but the headstock bearings worn out & we couldn't source any, sadly. Its still around, a guy who does electrical work for us owns it now & is refurbishing it :)

    Nope, Chinese lathe strip teeth...regularly!

Its rubbish, it cost £6k new and has more play in the saddle that a little, gears are not case hardened and strip teeth. To cut a decent thread is nigh on impossible, it chatters on every cut.
