Does anyone know what the difference between early and later brake calipers is please. Desperate as my right hand early one has just seized up and I'm going to France in 48 hours!
This lot are cheap and do next day delivery for £5-99 http://brakeparts.co.uk/#page=parts...on=TRAN*(70-79) 1.6, 1.7, 1.8 & 2.0 VAN/KOMBI
I have 2 of said items also and you are welcome to one, though it's further that Peterborough as you know. They have mended that bit of road though.
I'm of a mind to order a complete conversion kit and fit it overnight Tuesday. New calipers, pads etc etc etc. Then I'll not have to worry ever again. I fecking shiite meself today, 70mph along the Witney bypass, arrived at roundabout, put foot on brake and it went straight to the floor, all the way, not a thing! Furious pumping got me enough to slow down sufficiently to get round "à la Stig". Stopped in layby and right hand caliper was on fire. Got home and stripped it and it's well buggered, got so hot the caliper has actually cracked! Anyone tell me who supplies the best calipers/kit? Fortunately discs were new(ish) so that looks ok.
It might be the flexi hose making your caliper not release... If you have the wrong side caliper you can turn it upside down to bleed it... If you caliper was seized ever time you stopped the steering would pull to one side...
Wish i could be of some help as you have helped so many people on here If theres owt i can do then shout up
