hi all, just back from my first holiday without the kids in twenty two years - we drove the pacific highway from san diego to san francisco - san diego was great, not impressed with LA, san francisco was good, plenty of sights in between. total vw count, 4 splittys, 14 bays, 16 wedges - a lot less than I was expecting. didnt get too many photos as most of the vans we saw were headed in the other direction or parked up in someones drive as we drove past - the best one in La Jolla, San Diego we didnt get a snap of. This ones at Santa Monica beach This was a real front cut and hung up in a restaurant This on was on the cliff overlooking Big Sur Fibreglass diner version
The coastal highway's a super trip . San Diego def the second home of VW buses. Confess when I've been there with work I've found myself fiddling in people's engine compartments. Did you see the seals in La Jolla?

cool video - missing it already - will be starting up Kitty tomorrow, adding a couple of new stickers, the cali number plate and taking her out for a drive to get the battery going. didnt see the seals at la jolla but did see the elephant seals at san simeon and the sealions at pier 39 in SF.
