just a bit of advice required regards fitting brazilian doors to a 1973 bay.....we bought probably the last pair of non swage doors from vw heritage....some years ago for a restoration....i think the garage fitted the original hinges from my old 1973 door to the new nearside brazillian door and after alot of bending ..hard effort and a change to the german cab door seals got the nearside door to fit 95% flush .....however the drivers door seems to have been fitted with a more modern new hinge with what seems to be a more narrower hinge pin ( 8mm)...! whilst the original nearside hinge ...has a hinge pin seems to be wider in diameter approx (10 to 12 mm) any ideas? i will try to post on some photos of the two types of hinge for the expert eye offer their advice. all advice and opinions welcome.
You will get a better response if you post the above in the mech and tech section or general discussions. Your post is unlikely to get read by many in responding to a for sale item. It sounds like you are taking about the difference between early and late hinges. @zed will have the answer?
