I wonder why you'd want to. Doing the opposite to get new chrome and keep the old matching key I could understand.
@peterelaine The new lock barrels look bigger, I just checked, strangely my key worked in the new handle Top quality. Got an old handle here if any good.
I think JK does a set of handles that take the old style lock barrels, so you can take the biscuits from the old locks, and match the keying. Mine came with one new and one scabby handle in a box (sold as one old, one new by a private seller not JK on eBay) marked Preservation Parts, but the search on their website is so hopeless you would need to talk to a human. The new and old was where somebody replaced one side, I had to redo the drivers door as the brass of the handle had worn through so the lock barrel could turn with all the biscuits sticking out .. unlock with a thumbnail .. After a few years, the "new" one is now matching the scabbiness of the one on the passenger side, probably aging 4x faster..
^this, if your "new" handles are Brazilian style. The keys are different as well. But, as above...why are you fitting new locks to old handles?
My "new" door handle looks has a wider key slot like @3901mick 's picture. I redid the lock in it to use the original key.
Best source an original handle and use the lock mechanism in yours , re-wafering to match your key isn't difficult . The Brazzy ones I've fitted have chunky double sided keys - probably more secure but I doubt they'd fit original handles ... Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
