Last year i fitted a new door seal then shut the door to find out the door is made of filler The skin is as seen and the bottom looks like its also got filler story of the van really Trying to work out whats best should i try and repair it or get a rust free import or get a JK one although i have heard bad things about the fit of the jk one.
I'd be inclined to grind it back to bare metal to see just how bad it is. If much of the van is similarly patched up I would just repair and live with it for now.
That's not going to look any better when you've stripped the filler off . Classic "door bottom filling up with water" syndrome. Rust-free import...you'll even get a selection of colours ...
A slight metallic a bit more like pearl Shouldn't admit to it so publicly but its a nissan mica colour
Whatever doors you get you know painting them will be expensive and you will never get a true match Id say live with it for now and scour and search over a long time for a second hand set of original good condition doors Then lock em up nice and dry to be fitted when your bus has to go in for other big surgery Its best to get everything painted at the same time and even more true with pearls or metallics paints
Thanks i have come to the conclusion i am going to have to do the bottom 6" over then next few years as a rolling job thanks to the PO ability to carve filler and make silicone sealant look like weld so i will have a bottom half spray job when done I thought i would get the door done first as it looks bad and as long as the paint looks close for a few years it should be fine but like the idea of sorting it as rust free doors are getting more expensive
