Cab door seal

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by LL Sax, Jun 5, 2014.

  1. Brought the proper cab door seals, and was wondering to fit is it necessary to remove the door? As where the seal goes around the linkage there's no gap.

Sorry if I sound stupid... But dnt want to take door off if not necessary

If you're talking about the little straps near the hinge you can just undo them, push them into the door, fit your seal and then reconnect it. No need to take the door off.

  4. Inbetween the two hinges there is a type of lingage that is what stops the door opening and closing all the way when you close it. It's the part where on the German rubbers there is a square cut out where it goes quite wide. I was thinking can I cut the seal there and then glue back together.

No need. Just undo the check strap.

Yeh that strap, glad u got what I meant because I didn't. It doesn't seem to wan to come out. It has a small spire clip at the bottom which I've removed but the pin that goes through doesn't shift

  7. Sorry.... it has now after a frustrated blow with the hammer. Thanks for help sorry to ask such a stupid question

Think when I did mine I removed the circlips and then pushed it out with a punch and gently wiggled the door in the process. Glad you got it out though!

Which is why they should be fitted up from under with the clip on top - easier to knock out. ;)
