Cab Door Rebuild Kits - Which One?

Hello all, with the bus in for repsray Im going to rebuild the cab doors as the existing kit looks shabby, but there as usual is to much choice regarding products.

The rebuild kits seem the best value, with offering from the major players, im looking at the JK set which claims to use OEM parts, or the C&C set which claims to be German quality?

any advise guys don't realy wish to do this twice.

The kits are different prices with the JK being £40 cheaper.

The JK kit has genuine VW and aftermarket parts; you are unlikely to be able to close the doors using their seals. Spend the extra £40 with C&C and do it once.

 

JKs kit is £219

Ccs is £239

That's only £20

Incidentally, before I knew better I bought the JK bundle kit, they sent two LH window scrapers but unfortunately I didn’t notice until several months later when I went to fit them. They stuck to their T&Cs and refused to exchange the wrong part but I could buy the correct one from them – I didn’t. And I threw the door seals away.

 

With discount the JK one is £197 inc vat!

 

Do we get a c&c discount?

 

Spoke to Nathan at custom and commercial he will do a club discount to bring the kit down to £226

 

VW Heritage also do cab door rebuild kits - there's a best quality one for about 110 per side.

 

do you think this would be better or equal to the custom and commercial set? the c&c claims to be german quality, although Nathan said the vw ones where crap?

 

Always go German over Genuine,

German are best quality Repro which 99% of the time are better than

Genuine brazilian bits.

“We will also price match anyone offering a comparable quality product”. I always think this means - “We always fleece you but if found out we’ll reduce our price to just a rip off”.

But back on topic - No matter how cheap the JK kit might be unless they have changed recently the door seals won’t fit. They sell the tat because people like me buy it thinking it’s just a door seal what could possibly go wrong. And then throw it away – it’s the wrong shape, wrong section and wrong material.

The C&C grey door seals fit perfectly and the door closes as it should.

VWH German best quality kits are probably the same as C&C.

 

Alex, does this mean that you will price match C&C then honour the late bay discount as well?

What does your kits work out at with the late bay discount? Its not really fair for me to got to VWH just because you will price match you have to better the price or its only fair I go to C&C which where cheaper in the first place?
