Hi all, Just a quicky - Should there be a small hole at the rear corner of the cab door for water to escape? Seems the water tends to sit inside my OS door when I'm parked uphill but not in my NS. There is a vsmall hole in the NS rear corner but seemingly not the OS. The big front footwell holes are fine. Cheers!
My understanding is that there is only a hole in the front near the footwell - this is part of the genius German engineering you hear about - park it on a hill the wrong way and enjoy soggy door cards and rotting doors from standing water!! You can drill additional holes, just make sure you pull the swarf out and rust proof them adequately. There are greater minds on this than mine here however...
The only drain holes are by the steps. Your extra hole may be rust. Drilling extra holes towards the rear will cause water to drain into the van. The doors are a pretty cr*p design.
Always park downhill. The gutter inside the door catching water below the glass also only has a hole at the front. Drilling more holes will clear less water than simply pointing downhill.
Theyre brand new doors, small hole is a result of poor manufacture then. It does bizzarely seem to work, right in the outer rear corner, outside the seal. Im going to drill one on the other door, will let you know results! Ta all
