  1. hi
i want to wire my c-tec charger to charge while on hook up
i have a spare socket under the bed (i know i could of wired it into the consumer unit direct but want to have option of removal )so thats that side of it
is it just a case of then getting a live from the charger to the lb and earth ing the neg to the body or does the neg need to go on the engine like it says in the charger s distractions
also am i ok using the same earth as the hook up or does that need to be kept separate
    cheers

  2. Where is your LB?
You only really need to ground the neg of the ctek and attach the positive to somewhere that goes back to the LB. I got a new inverter/charger the other day and was testing it through a cigarette socket. If you have access to a pos from the LB under the seat just use that. Just make sure that any wires/fuses in between the charger and the LB are big enough to handle what ever the ctek pushes out.
My new charger/inverter interferes with the radio while charging. You might want to check for this and try moving it if possible.

  3. I ve got a feed comeing from the lb to a fuse box
So I could put c tec to the fuse box with a big enough fuse on it
And that would charge the lb ? Yes ?

  4. Fuse box would be good place, give it its own fuse and everything is together then if you have any electrical problems later its easier to troubleshoot.
Depending on your split charge setup you wont be charging the starter battery at the same time with this setup. But you shouldn't have anything draining it either. just remember that if you lay up for the winter the starter will need a top up from time to time.

  5. you'll want to take it straight to the battery, when we enquired about shortening the cable they said a big no, as it was all calculated to give the correct ampage and voltage, I would say it'd be the same lengthening the cable too, It will adjust the voltage ampage going to the battery.

Not worth the risk in my opinion.
