Christ you never pay for something you've never seen before!!!!!

  4. I'd always view a car before paying or your asking for trouble. :(

  6. Avoid the 2.5 T5   . I had 1 for 6 months on a 54 plate. 1st problem within a week of purchase at 120k, dual mass flywheel, then intermittant starting issues in all temps back to garage to have new fuel filter, full fuel system check, in to main dealer who had no idea what it was they said it could be 1 of many sensors ( not glowplugs as was pig to start in all temps -8 up to +20 ), new connections on fuel lines, then found head is a common issue cracks between oil way and fuel way on cylinder 3!! then the gearbox started knocking!! all in 3k miles!!! Best thing was seeing it go up the road when i sold it!!!
Since selling several people have said they are nothing but trouble!
late t4s are ment to be better but i have no experiance of them.

  8. why not get her to look for a late model T4 which has been fully sorted with camping gear etc. there are some really nice ones for sale at the moment.

  9. Ebay cars always always go and see them in the flesh.
A fully serviced T5 should last as well as a T4 which is better value for money get the last ones- they are a superb van. The T5 is a nice van but dull to look at byt even i will get it obe day, since i had all the rest so far!!
Go on to The Brickyard they have a T5 section , lots of good info on there as well as the T4.
Good luck. personally i would avoid any chipped engines and bling- buy standard and do it yourself. Go diesel only, if money no object get a sportline( hehe).
Get it converted to a camper about £5-6k or better do it yourself, its easy enough.

  10. I came across this scam when I was looking for a camper, you see the vehicle for sale on ebay at a "buy it now" price (which is always very cheap) when you comit to buying the seller sends you this fraudulent "ebay vehicle purchase document by e-mail) basically it asks you to deposit money into a bank account which will be held there by e-bay until such time as the vehicle is delivered to you and you are happy with the purchase, when both parties are happy I email e-bay and authorise the transfer of the funds, and it all looks very authentic with all the e-bay insignia all very professional looking, but its a SCAM, I google mapped the address the seller gave me and it was an industrial estate in London, I immediatley contacted e-bay and they told me under no circumstances should I send any money and that it was a scam, E-bay never have or never will act as a middle man on any purchase of any kind, so I gave e-bay all the details I could about the fraudulent sale, then phoned the guy back and told him he was a prick.
