Bump Stops

  1. Hi all,

Whilst doing some general poking around i noticed that one of my bump stops (big round cone thing) was split so taking advantage of GSF 60% I've bought a pair to replace them both. however it would seem that at rest may bus is already touching the bump stop? is this normal? its a 76 Westy all original interior etc with the @.0L type 4 motor, 6 rib box.
it doesn't look to be overly saggy.
    TIA rob.

  3. Nope totally standard both ends measures about bang on for height clearance at roof according to best efforts at measuring. What I could ideally use is a measurement fro floor to the underneath of a standard late bumper so it’s easy to measure but can’t find anything like that. I’ve got the height number for the late Westy but it’s hard to qualify

Mine's lowered at front, only mildly, but has no bump stops.
The rear ones touch, just been to look...and discovered fluid leak in the new braking system!! .... something else to do!

  5. I’ve swapped them out anyway, the new ones do not touch they’re close but not under load. I’d say 10mm at most. However they’re no way near as big/robust as the old ones [IMG]
