Thinking of getting a set for my van and perhaps making a few.

Does anyone know the rules/laws/regulations that may be associated with them?

I seem to remember as a kid that they were banned or something - can anyone in the know shed some light?

I know there is little chance of hitting a kangaroo in the UK but you never know when child is going to jump out and damage the front panel. Plus I like the look of them.

  3. Good point. I was told that the law is that you are not allowed to fit them but if they were fitted before the ban (if there was one) they are legal. On a 40 year ok vehicle it's going to be hard to prove when they were fitted I guess!
I still see plenty of vehicles with bull bars.

What about those Hurst Bars they sell for splitties...if they are legal, surely Roo bars for bays would be too, if they fall below the law came into force
