Hi - we're planning on going down for the breeze for the day....quite keen to see the spectacle of the run down with other bays. Is it possible to join the convoy down? If so is there a planned route? We're heading from Guildford in our 77 green westy. Cheers. Jason
I'm going on Saturday morning leaving from ashford middlesex, would happy to meet up with a few of you.
I'm going, but will be staying in a campsite about 10 miles away, so will be coming along the coast road from Shoreham-on-Sea. The official cruise comes down the M23/A23, and starts off about 8am, I think.
The convoy is leaving Epsom at 8.30 so should be passing the Crawley junctions about 45 mins after that. You could pick it up there via Horsham. Parking up at the other end mighrt be difficult unless you have a ticket. Might we worth using the large public car park at the Marina end and walking up.
I did this cruise one year. I was a really awesomely sunny day and we cruised... by the time we got there everyone else had driven straight to Brighton and had parked up before us so we then queued for about an hour along Madeira Drive trying to get somewhere to park up despite being the people who'd prebooked. We ended up so far along I think we may have been in Eastbourne. Never doing that again. May join the increasing numbers that spend the Friday night on madeira Drive
I'm booked for the whole thing. Epsom etc. Looking forward to it. Hopefully Percy doesnt break down this year.
I'm in Brighton and have been to the last couple. If you come down with the official cruise you will queue for ages to get to madeira drive. Last year especially was just a massive backlog. There is public parking at the top of maderira drive, however it is pay per meter and all the parking charges went up extortionately in Brighton this summer and it is now very expensive and will probably be full. (1hr=£3.50, 4hrs=£10) There is free parking at the marina which is a 5-10 min walk straight onto Maderira Drive, however it is mostly a low multistory carpark with tight bends (mines stock height and won't fit) There is free parking at the asda carpark in the marina but it is always busy at weekends anyway although it is still the best option. For anyone that wants to camp there is a campsite at Sheepcote valley which is less than a 5 min drive from both the Marina and Madeira drive and is also walking distance to both. To be honest I think Breeze has got too big for Madeira drive and I don't understand why they don't hold this at either Waterhall or Stanmer park now?
Yeh when ive been ive parked in asda carpark n walked, not sure if i will go down this year as ive been quite a few times but not camped or with club. If the sun is shining on saturday i might come down in car and have wander up n see you lot ;D 8)
Can anyone park on Madeira Drive on the Friday night or do you need a ticket? I was thinkin of parkin up the Asda end for the night as I was out anyway in Brighton Friday night then realised this is happening Saturday so double result if so!
This is my favourite show of the year but we have to miss the Saturday night party this year. If you see me, Mrs Fishtrousers or Alan the Trouser dog, be sure to say hello.
