Does anyone have a breather pipe setup like this? I've looked at the diagrams and they all seem to show a metal pipe all the way along here, however mine is split into 2 with a piece of hose inbetween. This is just inside the engine hatch on the O/S. It's not ideal as the right hand pipe is a little higher so it pulls on the hose, which itself goes through a metal hole (no room for a grommet). With hose Hose off
OK if that's normal I'll put a longer stretch of pipe on to prevent the higher one slipping out. Does anyone have a grommet here or just leave it?
they are all the same I think - makes sense I think the vibrations would wear out the metal pipe - stick something around the hole to stop chaffing (ooer) if you want that extra bit of security, but mines been ok after 4 years of trundling up and motorways daily
I could shove a bit of inner tube around the hose where it goes through the hole? Obviously would make the hose harder to inspect but would stop the chafing
Its normal mate. Use a gromit if you can get one in but I wouldn't overly worry about it, just keep an eye on it.
As above, just stick a longer bit of pipe on it. The hole in the pressing should have a rounded lip on it to stop chafing, as the Germans were very diligent...
better off without the braiding too - its easier to watch the cheap nasty hose falling apart in front of your eyes
I reckon they'd be good enough. In our climate, you're only going to have vapour in the breather pipes.
Oh I meant the whole bus... I've just spent the evening replacing every clamp, screw and bolt with cable ties. Have I done wrong?
You hold Peugeot 307 wings on with cable ties. And strangely oil cooler hoses dont seem to melt them either.
