quick question in the top of the engine bay where the 2 pipes meet there is a rubber t piece. (mine has had it and looks like a piece is missing) is it meant to join the 2 pipes together and the 3rd hole in the t piece just left with nothing attached to it? im unsure as i think i saw a pic on here in someones engine bay where there was a pipe going from it to somewhere else? cheers
the 3rd end goes into the air filter where it will suck any fuel vapour into the engine and get burnt
I dont think it is, i drilled a hole and put a barbed nozzle on my twin solex's so as i had somwhere to run that pipe to.
Tap it into the top of the air filter. Just make sure what you choose is secured and won't fall into the carb should you or should the pipe fall off. PS like the coil cover.
if that's a solex progressive you'll find 2 brass pipes coming out of the back which are vacuum - one should be to the dizzy, assuming you have a vacuum dizzy. Connect the breather hose to this directly. Its not a standard filter you've got as its not a standard carb you have fitted for this engine
the one from the bottom of the filter to the case is a crankcase breather, shouldn't have a t piece. You should also have a connection tapped into the centre boss of your manifold which is for the servo, if you have a servo. this is how mine used to look
what are the pipes going to up there? yea those 2 pipes on mine are joined with a t piece with nothing on the 3rd hole in the t
On mine it's a breather box. You need to ditch that t piece or block it off. As you've got it now it will be blowing oil and sucking dirty air. Sure that's a solex? It looks like a weber to me?
ok ill block it off. that will be easy enough yea its a solex. i did find the number of it a while back to see if it was ok and a guy on here told me ( before the crash) a mate of his had the same one on an old porsche so that was good enough for me
