To be expected I suppose...... Within a week of ownership of '79 T2 - 1600 engine , I have problem with brakes and a slipping clutch. Brakes: No control on pedal, brakes jamming on but do stop the vehicle all be it with a bit of a jolt ! , pedal sticks down when depressed, the main linkage immediately underneath appears fine , local garage owner huffing & puffin about servo and master cylinder replacement. (got the impression he didn't want to do job ! ) Clutch slipping, would feel happier replacing it anyway. Anyone recommend VW specialist garage Local to WN5 Area in the North West. And what costs I should expect to pay for : Replacement Clutch Brake overhaul Thanks CJM.
