Brake Servo Retro fit

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Andy-M, Jul 2, 2020.

  1. Hey guys. I'm looking to retrofit a servo to my brakes. I know I'm going to have to get a bracket welded between the front beams, and JK do a bracket for £12.
I'm trying to find somewhere that does a servo kit with everything I need. I've found one from Cool air, but has anyone got any other suggestions or recommendations??
I'm guessing this is quite a time consuming job, so how much would I be looking at to have it done??

    Cheers

  2. Thanx @brilliantblue I hadn't read that. And I'm normally the first one to roll my eyes at people who don't do searches first!!
But there are some very valid points in that thread. I thought it was going to improve the breaking effect, not just the ease of effort...
I do need to get new discs, pads shoes and drums, so I might do that first and see what the difference is..

  3. First step is to get your brakes in shape. Bay brakes unservoed are fine, and stop you in short order. A servo just reduces the pedal effort. It doesn't "improve" the brakes.

It depends on your definition of improved brakes. ;)
Same braking, much less effort = improved. :)
