If you see rust - paint over it.

By preference, pick a colour mildly similar to original, paint on with brush, put it on extra thick where rust is worse.

If you can find something that reacts with EVERYTHING including blocker, mores the better.

Also - make sure you put it in the hard to fix seemlessly areas such as inner door surround, along top of windscreen inside, parts of dashboard and gutters externally.

WTF do people paint over rust over and over again?!?!?

  8. If you want to ensure electrical problems and the possibility of fire, do connect wires with a subtle twist and then use sellotape or similar (gonna go brittle over one summer) tape to insulate the aforementioned join.

When faced with a hole bigger than a fist in the back of the front mudguard, cut cardboard to shape and underseal, this will stop the inside of your bus rotting....for a wee while.

If the bottom sill cover is showing signs of corrosion..never fear..stick another panel on it man is here, good for trapping rust and getting artistic with filler to cover up the bodge...think wattle and dorb.

    All done by PO :banghead:

If dab silicon sealant as you apply it then paint it with undersill it looks just like a weld.

Vinyl stickers and badly applied paint covers up holes in a beam.

Corn flake packets make excellent substitute for metal sheet when painted.

  10. coke cans, with the tops and bottoms cut off and slit down the side. Place lambretta cylinder head on it and cut round. Makes great head gasket. Cornflakes boxes make great fibre gaskets. Leave to soak in oil and cut to size. Got a knackered threaded hole? Non structural? Great get a rawl plug and use a self tapper screw, or hammer a pencil in and break the rest off.

Cut up coat hangers make great split pins too. I have 2 currently in my rear hubs.

    I personally blame Castrol.

Ever since they moved to plastic bottles, many a footwell has suffered by not being bodged with one of their cans!

Can't believe no one has mentioned foil wrapped around broken fuses - or better, and seen my be more than once, a suitable sized bolt as a fuse.

I'm a fire starter, twisted fire starter!!

  13. take your bus to a well known local garage ask them to sort out an electrical problem. then collect your bus when they have made a satisfactiory job of stripping insulation and twisting wires together .

pay them with good quality cash.

why bodge it yourself when you can get a professional to do it for you

and for good measure make sure you get them a few beers as they have been so helpfull
