Just got a Amazon bargain. 5 blink xt2 cameras and a free echo dot . Something to play with for a while and a bargain to boot

  3. "Which" magazine reckons it's just hype - same items available before and after for same or less

There was something on the news today about most Black Friday deals being anything but.....you could buy the item at pretty much the same price beforehand. But this is old news isn’t it? Do people still fall for this?

  5. Don't buy anything, its all hype. That tat will end up in landfill someday, and the money you wasted on that bargain item will make the fat cats richer.

It’s an American thing... like trick or treat. You notice xmas seems to get earlier every year? It’s just for the sheeple.

  8. Bit racist!

  9. I thought the same. I'm going to write to the Guardian about it.

Apparently 1 in 20 is a good deal the rest are available at the same price within 6 months before or after

  13. Echo Dots are on offer at £22 and Firesticks at £19.99.

  14. One of the well known vw suppliers sent me an email about black friday. I checked out the prices for a couple of bits i need.. they were more expensive than an alternative supplier even with the "black friday" special disount

It's all just marketing bo11ocks.. put the price up when no-one is noticing.. then offer a big discount to get back the the selling price you had anyway, and watch the orders come rolling in (allegedly!).

Day after thanksgiving in USA when everyone is bored - we don#t have thanksgiving here.

    Wasn't JK was it?

I needed one single bleed nipple for an e.arly bay, they wanted about £9 for one posted, including the black Friday discount... a quick look on that internet thing got me a pack of 4 delivered for £4.99...

    Cheeky gits..

    I do love the irony
America has a day of being thankful for what they have then the following day they go nuts buying stuff.

  18. I'm going to save an absolute fortune on Black Friday by not buying anything:thumbsup:

Whilst i agree that the Black Friday and all that comes under its umbrella are quite somewhat dubious deals. Without doubt each deal needs research.
Whilst I got my echo dot free with the cameras I ordered , and my research shows a genuine deal for me yesterday, my daughter sent me a link a couple of week back where she got one for £7.99 with a limited Amazon music trial included. That deal makes the current £22.50 a bad deal, but in reality if you know what they do £22.50 is a bargain anyway .
The above example of the cost of grease nipples is typical of what most of us discover when we shop around .
In fear of boring people I have quite a few times aaked if threres room for a section in the forum where we can all promote a genuine bargain we find be it a bargain of any kind or restrict to late bay stuff but it seems to fall on deaf ears
