No, nothing to do with Robinson Crusoe…( easy now…..). Have you got your eyes on anything in particular for next Fridays ‘Massive Sale Day’? Also, I’m after a bit of info, as I will be shopping for my dear old 89 year old mum. she has degenerative macular vision, and I and my bro suggested to her to buy a newer bigger telly. At the moment, she has a 32” Panasonic which she bought 10 years ago, which in order for her to see anything of any sense on it, she drags a stool closer to the telly to watch. I suggested something along the size of a 55” LG,Samsung, etc. But her being old school, says she dosnt want a massive telly, etc, etc, until I took her off to Curry’s yesterday to see what’s on offer. She’s loving the thought of a big telly now, and was so surprised on how cheap they are compared to her 32”, 10 years ago at £400. A good 55” LG we saw was only £89.00 dearer, so she is up for it. Question is, would the tellys on display in Curry’s today, be in the sale next week and should we just hang on a week before buying one? Cheers. ( she will need a new DVD player too, as the connection for her old one is scart).
You can get some great used tvs on fagbook... Regarding size.. No one goes to the cinema because the screen is small,
I dunno - I bought a fairly big screen for my computer 4 years ago for £15 instead of 10x that for new. It's been faultless. TVs and screens people just keep up-sizing when there's nowt wrong with them. Bargains to be had as it saves them a drive to the tip.
A quick look at Currys online shows that they've got their Black Friday deals up already... so I can't see that they will go any cheaper in 5 days time online. If you definitely want to buy in store, I'd give their website a look just for a comparison, go back to the shop with a print out or screen shot of the online price and ask them to match it. It may be no different, or it maybe that in store they will wait until the actual day... but you should at least be able to get the online price for her.
I’ve never really been convinced about the Black Friday deals when ever I’ve looked nothing is much different to the other times of you shop around
If she doesn’t want a fancy one I would wait until after Christmas and get a 2nd hand one after everyone’s got new ones for Christmas
Mothers old school. Needs receipts and guarantees. She dosnt need the hassle of failed electronics and no Tv at the end of it. Just common sense.
I know what you mean. Bit like the Go Outdoor sales….never much cheaper, unless you want a cheap jacket for the dog to lie on.
I tend to go into John Lewis to see what’s about, then go to Richer Sounds to buy. JL do 5 year guarantees, RS 6 years.
I bought a microwave/grill in Curry's last week ( I know it's not a telly but you can still watch it) but in store there was 2 different prices for the same model. When I asked them to check the price it was the cheaper one(£40 cheaper) ,they hadn't had time to update the prices on the front of the shelves.
