So, as I write this, I am in a random wood in saffron walden. I'm very much I to my biking, all sorts, and we were looking to an alternative to bed and breakfast when on an epic ride...... I've had a few beers, the other 2 are asleep, and I can just scare the crp out of myself by watching spiders above my head, and listening to the spooky scratching sounds....... I want my bus a bit!!
Nothing like a good bivvy to make you appreciate the home comforts! I once bivvyed on an old disused RAF bombing range as a cadet. Its character building!
So, it started raining about 5 minutes after I wrote that! I woke up at about 5.30, and my army surplus bivvy had leaked....it is in pounces wood, of anyone wants it! Us dopey buggers never checked the weather.......it was a glorious day,and everyone was saying how we were in for a lovely 2 weeks........wrong! It hasn't put me off ...one of my buddies will be in B&B for life though! Merino wool works.......
I love spending time outdoors in a bivvy bag with nowt but a tarp above me Its not as easy as normal camping by a long shot though Give it a few more tries before you say its not for you
