biodiesel

  1. Does anybody know what the score is with using biodiesel. I've esearched and can't find a definitive answer as to whether I can use it in my car or not. Some say you can, some say you can't because some of the pipes/fittings won't like it. And I'm certainly not going to just try it and see........its a peugeot 2litre hdi. Anyone done it?

  2. Yes, i have made over 20,000 litres now and run 100% in a Nissan juke and Merc, all cars will run on good bio, but not all commercial bio is good, the problems you refer to are on old cars with rubber fuel pipes although some DPF,s can be problamatical becauce bio burns slightly cooler.
Join http://www.biopowered.co.uk/forum/index.php and ask away, lots of people running Pugs on bio, very friendly forum like this one, im an Admin on there

  3. If you do, ensure you change your "fuel filters" REGULARLY also has a tendency to give a fuel pumps a hard time !!

  4. The fuel pump is more on the veg side, you would need a Bosch pump it breaks lucas ones being thicker, bio is a great solvent and will clean out the fuel tank as Madpad says, when first starting on it we all carry a spare filter

  5. Excellent info, thanks a lot. Would I be able to assume a dpf is diesel particulate filter or am I just making crap up? » I am a numpty after all !+

  6. Yes Diesel particulate filter, mine is ok and i know a guy running a new Mini with one, but a couple of people have talked about removing them, this is the most popular bio forum
http://www.vegetableoildiesel.co.uk/forum/today.php must be 40+ guys running Pugs of various ages on bio on there, just stick a post up asking what you asked here
