big shout from coventry

  1. hi all ;D after owning many many beetles have finally managed to get my first bus!!!
    its a 72 rhd westy bit ratty but mot and taxed till june 2013 90% all there

    just need a table, some front seats,some proper westy plaid curtains,some wheels,some paint,some.....you get the pic im sure ::)
    it came with spare doors,engine lids,engine,sill,complete front arch/step repair,new westfalia bellows for the pop top etc not perfect but a good starting bus i think,it was my mates and he had it for 23 years,the plate says jay but im calling him"STEVE"after my mate lol

  4. cheers guys,been tryin to prise this out of his grip for 3 years as he only uses it once a year to go to devon so its parked up 11months and 2weeks of the year what a waste lol ,takes a bit of gettin used to drivin as its not exactly a corner hugging hot rod :-[ but the hot air vents work so cant be that bad ;D so when im used to it pod might take a trip down the A46 ???

  11. thanks guys,but my ownership of a bus isnt going to plan went to my mums this morn to check paint codes,and noticed some @hailfrank has pushed my tailgate lock in :-[(no damage to panel thank god as its new just barrel been forced in,leaving just the surround) !!!! an amature attempt at a break in??? well if they had of gone to the side door i had not locked it!!!! i have a 1953 oval beetle uber rare on the road as my daily driver i never lock it no alarm nothing leave it outside my house over night and its never been touched!!! i buy a 72 bus and it gets assaulted on my second night!!!!!! is this a usual thing with a bus ownership???? on my mums drive i have had lotus's,early mg's,triumph vitesses,mk1 escorts, countless beetles of all guises.what do you do to your van to discourage said thieving scum?????well annoyed :mad: mum has lived here for donkeys years and never a problem with any of my cars!!! right rant over lol am going to get some grainding discs to check out the dodgey looking sill on drivers side looks very thin to say the least ::)

  18. hello , fab looking bus, i (prob not much interest but) run mine "rat" so i think in Glasgow (vehicle nicking central and then some!) when lowlife look in my bus they may opinion " hey ,come and see this , it"s pretty sad" and move on ,though ive had ,people standing on the bumpers ,swinging on my front panel mounted spare wheel,mine lives in street ,it is a worry ,though i think most decent peeps regard them as cute curios,(owned by people who hark back to days of "working on own vehicle!!) good luck with it ! oh and Coventry ? great !! 2 tone ,ska and all that ,love that
     
  19. yes guys cheers for the comments and steveagain terry hall from the specials and then fun boy 3 lived couple of doors down from me we used to hang outside there house esp when bannanarama were there >:D well just been out in her again lol just for a spin round the block, managed to get the misses :eek: and both youngest daughters in the back for the trip kids loved it the misses was warming to it when boom!!! it cut out half way across a junction!!it was my fault i was in wrong gear and playing with the stereo.... it started straight away but being all fingers and thumbs couldn find a gear for what seemed like forever......to say she was unimpressed is the under statement of the year!
