Hello guys, I’ve spent the last 6 months preparing my ‘79 Westy for my sisters wedding next weekend, which she’s asked to use it as her wedding vehicle. Typically, after all this work (including body and mechanical), the damn auto gearbox has started playing up today. The only driveline component I’ve not replaced in the 18 months I’ve owned it… I’m fearing the worst if I’m honest. Based on it not being repairable by next weekend (any one know any available gearbox mechanics?!!) would anyone be willing to hire me their camper for next weekend? Collection Thurs/Fri and dropping back Sunday. Obviously insurance will be sorted for myself and for the groom to drive it. I’ve owned campers for the last 6-7 years. I know many of their quirks. The groom also comes from a mechanics family and so it will be in very good hands. Looking for something presentable and mechanically (haha…) sound. I’m based in Lewes, East Sussex and the wedding will be in Cheltenham. Happy to leave my new T6 as collateral. Please message me if you can help a fellow dubber out. Hi Jon, I can't help as I only provide wedding hire up in Birmingham. Depending on your budget try 'The wedding car hire people' or Premier carriage' they both list canpervans. However at such short notice you may struggle to find anyone with availability now.
Thanks Rich. I've found someone in Surrey with a nice one on one of the campervan hire websites. It's shinier than mine too... Thanks for the recommendation though.
