best way to fill/weld drilled holes in bumper?

  1. getting ready to take bumpers off for a refurb.

what's the best way to fill/weld drill holes: got 2 holes about 8mm wide (where front fogs were) and 2 holes about 4mm (where number plate was) to fill.

i want a permanent job not just a quick fix as the bumpers will be taken back to metal and completely re-painted.

    any advice welcome.

  2. welding them up is the best permanent solution

I welded mine up by building up the weld a bit at a time

or you could use a bit of copper behind it (2p piece or old water pipe flattened down) and do the lot at once, remove the copper and run some weld over the back where the copper was to remove any pin holes then grind the lot flat.

alternativly you could lead loading the holes as this is also a good solution but does take a bit more practice

  4. thanks for the advice - i'll give the copper method a go when the bumpers are off.
