Probably one for @Baysearcher etc - who do you use to insure your bus, and what sort of price was it for the year? Obviously going to watercooled means its now modified - even if we did use all VW parts Just want to know who is okay with this modification to save us ringing around lots of companies to be told they won't touch us Thanks in advance
I stuck with Cherished. The only charge was an admin fee and others claim they didn't even have to pay that! I spoke to them before I did it and they said it'd make very little difference an they were right. Happy days
We're with Cherished too with our Scooby. I have also been with RH Specialist, and they were fine with modifications too. Some companies want to refer to their underwriters before agreeing to insure (if you're taking out a new policy with the modification already done), but if you're changing mid-policy, RH Classic didn't even charge an admin. They just said "Thanks for letting us know, we'll make a note of it on your policy", no increase in premium, nothing.
Ah great, cheers guys, its insured with JK at the moment - will give them a call tomorrow and see what they say - if a no then to cherished we shall go lol.
Well - it was too cherished we went - starting a new policy afresh(even tho we were only four months into the old one) - fantastic service so far! Thanks folks! We won't even go there with the old insurance company
