and time goes by....so slowly......................when money has dried up ...the money tree has ceased bearing fruit......just as we find out that the engine in Bertie is well and truly dead!!!! :'(.....yep ...
those of you that remember the 1st resto thread before the GREAT THread CRasH will recall the full story of the guy that sold me the bus..........what was it he said ..." oh , yes ..it runs " ... what a lying *********....what goes around comes around ..and hes actually on the forum...well theres a turn up!

well time has moved on...as they say ..it waits for no man..............there has been progress and a few ups and downs.....cut a long story short Bertie has had to come home to be finished ... a long story .

now he's home we've been doing what we can, firstly a good wash and clean out, now the refurbed interior that we have been working on for last 2 years has been going back in , we have re-upholstered the R&R bed and upper bunk cushions in fab condition - original fabric and covers and stripped the cab seats and fitted better condition not new covers , a little faded and needing a few repairs but not bad at all.

Obviously the flooring was sorted first, insulation down first then exterior ply then an anti-slip safety flooring, we went for a pale yellow with black specks and graphite sparkles in the end, it's fab but will get a carpet made to go over top aswell.

any way heres a few pics , also hopeing to get it running soon...properly...fingers crossed ...maybe even an M.o.T!!

Cheers guys, yes ..... We even took Bertie for an MOT last week... But unfortunately it wasn't to be.... Maybe next time.
Will add more pics shortly, 240 hook up now fitted. Also ive just finished a bespoke toilet box, made using og pieces of cabinets.

Now steady on Bertie, that looks like a bus ready to hit the road! What went wrong with the MOT?

 

....ahhhh, where do i start............................
..........................things that were supposed to have been done ...and also things that had been done-----wrong. :
minor bits like
1.headlight aim too high, both sides
2.corroded central brake pipe,
3. wheel bearing - but all where replaced...,.....they just hadn't tightened up the rear hub nut fully before putting split pin through.........i took pin out and was able to tighten the 46mm hub nut by hand!!!!! frightening, as the old saying goes...if you want anything doing....
4. .....also the new fixed track rod that they fitted had had the thread stripped so that was loose., would not do up or undo, so a new one has been ordered.......so all in all not a great deal considering that Bertie had been stripped of nearly every part in his resto.


any way curtains are finished and fitted, just need to find a piece of westy curtain rail for tailgate window as we are missing a piece.

 

I'd say thats not bad for a list of MOT failure

........never the less, its a shame those little bits wern't done right in the first place - it happens though
