Well I have been lurking on here since last year and finally after looking at numerous cross-dressers/late bays bought Dougal a 1977 Westfalia Berlin import from Oregon about 6 weeks ago. Since then I have been reading every thread, how to and asking some dumb seemingly random questions in an attempt to get Dougal ready for camping at the end of May with the wife, 2 kids and the dog. This is a great site, with great community spirit and content.....and some top humour also! Here is a picture of Dougal sporting some extremely dodgy mirrors! PS: What I have learnt so far; don't mention oil selection or question steering racks
I like it - plus that wheel cover can improvise as a draughts board should you break down and need to wait for the big yellow taxi.....try not to use the very dark brown pebbles that smell a bit as pieces though.
Thanks all for the welcome. The colour is great as it is VERY visible, which comes in handy as I am getting used to the lhd and on occasion still driving down the middle of the road .
Nice bus and good to see you got sorted. Get yourself to a techenders if you want to find out more about how these buses work and meet some intersting people. It's in Lutterworth. PS we have got out of far harder battles, but i'm papping it about this Sunday! Still need that point.
Unfortunately just missed being ready for the last one and looks like the next one we will be on the Isle of Wight. Saturday's debacle - apparently they had 14,ooo people there(special reduced prices) - largest crowd for ages - and they were awful. £&£)(??##}~ typical!
Welcome from another Cov fan, who'd of thunk there were 3 of us? Can really recommend Techenders as i got some great help there a couple of years ago, the next one should be in September and good for a laugh even if you're not doing any work on the van.
No I am south of cambridge/north essex these days. May go back for the MotoFest just to drive on the Ring Road
