There's a company who makes them. They do minis too. Can't for the life of me remember their name though!
Now that's col. Currently planning my new brick built Barrie. May have to have a rethink based on this!
If they are in the uk I would seriously consider getting one. I need a new BBQ this year and that would just be awesome. Although I would want to have a BBQ every day just to use it!
I made one out of the front end of a mini years ago If you wanted it that pretty it would have to be made out of new panels though as any filler or fiberglass used would be affeceted by the heat And it would be a shame to cut up a good bug to make a bbq
Humm, that's true about the heat / filler etc. it might actually be better to make a BBQ in the shape of a bug and just buy and fit the lights and extras. I could even get some electric into it and, (keeping it away from the heat), make the lights work. Hummmm, now there's a summer project!
all new panels would cost a fortune! and they may get stolen to do some essential repairs on an orange bug
If i was commisioned to make one like your pic id build a steel box section frame and use the panels as covers to make the eye pleasing shape up and im pretty sure with the right wiring and some thought it could have the lights and indicators working no problem Like ermintude says though it wouldent be cheap If your in need of a new bbq and want one thats a bit different and is a conversation piece but will last more than a year Chuck me a pm and ill happily talk through some ideas with you Im a big fan of making working art from stuff other people have no need for and have made couldrons and woodburning stoves out of old gas bottles Ive also made many backpacking/picnic hobo stoves from charity shop bought parts Ill fire up photobucket and get you some pics
Ahh a combination of paras fingers and the new style photobucket error lol That was a old carpenters axe i dug out of a field whilst fereting one day that i cleaned up and restored and gifted on The pic was half way through the cleaning up as it took a lot of work but the head and handle are still original I found it wrapped in cloth that i think was soaked in linseed oil Its still in use today by the fella that i gifted it too As a gift in return i got 50 hand made ash tent pegs fashioned with that axe Im a bit sad aint i lol
These are my currently used edged tools for country living You would have a hard time explaining carrying these in a town lol
