Seems there was an issue with them recently in the UK too if the air B n B write ups are anything to go by!
I had them in my student digs many years ago, nasty little blighters. Mind you, the fumigation spray that I bought was probably worse!
Same here, in one of the various sh1tty digs I had as a student. I moved out pronto. Horrible things.
They do have a distinctive, horrible smell. Bedbugs, that is, not students (although it's often a close run thing).
