Doubt they really cared, trainspotters call football "veg ball" veg being short for vegetable which in the same cruel vocal term you use meant we thought of you as wheelchair riders or window lickers.

 

I don't overly think bigger is better in loco circles, I'd much rather a small loco work hard than a big one cruise... And as for the tonezzzzz... Well less is more.

 

In the Fifties our railway had a couple of ex US Navy diesels, originally used to run supply trains between the Base and the Port area. Piddly little things really but they of course had the yankee two tones which could be heard miles away sufficient to clear any cows etc off the line but faintly ridiculous sight when they eventually rattled by.

 

many moons ago on peterborough station there used to be a young lady train spotter always in black with a black cloak - sort of female goth trainspotter

 

She sounds fantastic, what a catch for someone

 

by now i,d imagine she,d be like granny weatherwax

 

Generally, trainspotters don't like piercings, as they "might hurt". Odd, as their mum normally packs a tube of Savlon with their sandwiches.

 

Is there a lady out there who would like to meet an old man with old van and old mgb. Must like trainspotting. Thought not. Where am I going wrong? Advice please.

There's a series on discovery called railroad alaska and they did a 3 hour special where they had a camera looking out the cab front I lasted 10 minutes

I used to go Plane spotting in my youth until i got bored working on them every day as an engineer and still at it today. Not Plane spotting but inspecting them. I wonder when they will do the next program on Plane Spotting. Can,t Wait.
