Chris, the words hens teeth leap to mind,

A guy down here managed to pick up a N.O.S. cruise control up from the Samba a couple of years ago, don't know if he ever fitted it though.

  3. Would you trust a cruise control that is likely to be over 30 years old?

There is indeed cruise control for the bus. Cooldad has the system fitted to his bus. l haven't had the chance to view it but from what he said of it, it is very strange and worked on a motor and chain l do believe.

  7. Oh boy - I want to see this!!!

  17. I think all buses should have it.
When on a long stretch of motorway I'd love to be able to just jump in the back and make a cuppa, or have a little snooze.

  19. I have that exact setup in my '77...

Spent ages trying to get it to work properly but it was reluctant at best - until one morning when I was on way to work, every time I touched the clutch the engine rev'd to about 7000. Got some funny looks at lights and junctions.

It works on a bellows/chain type effigy which I assumed was part of a vacumn setup?

Someone once made a Marmitety remark about my van, whilst he was in a fiesta, I asked did he have cruise control and air-con? He got a bit embarassed - I didn't point out that neither of mine were working....
