  1. Putting a new battery tray in what is the best way
1 unpick then fit new tray
2 cut bottom quarter to fit

i have looked there is no howto i can find (you tube etc )

or am i a long way off

    cheers Paul

  2. depends on the condition of the rest of the area

if its all really good you can chop out most of the old battery tray but leave a small lip left attached for you to weld the new one to - that way you wont damage the paint on the outside when welding

If it needs a new outer corner then - chop that out, unpick the old tray, weld in new tray, weld in new corner

  3. You're not going to want to remove the rear quarter (unless you're already doing so for other repairs).

Go with your first idea; unattach the current one and weld in the new one.

  4. the paint work will get redone so no probs there

the metal is good its just the tray has gone i have bought a origanal tray i don't want to chop it up

  5. Yer make sure you chop a big enough hole , did ours last year went for MOT and MOT man put Advisory may need new battery tray ::) When i told him theirs one their he said oh thought it was a hole n that was bottom of battery.Still it helped him being blind on other parts maybe ;)
