  1. Hi
Been looking at replacing my aged old batteries for something a little more robust and just came across this

    http://www.tayna.co.uk/Numax-Leisure-Batteries-S284-1.html second one down ;)

Looks like it'll do the job and cheap enough to by a couple to have one as a leisure battery ?

    Specifications :

    12V 86Ah
Cold Start Marine Cranking Amps: 1000A works out about 800A
    Deep-cycle & Starting
    Sealed Lead Acid

    Length: 257 mm
    Width: 172 mm
    Height: 220 mm

    Your thoughts please ?

  2. That link is coming up 'page not found'...how much are they?

  3. sorry trying to fix it

price is £69.99 inc vat + del !!

Done linky should work now !

  4. Deep cycle and starter? I thought deep cycle had thicker plates to better withstand being completely discharged and could not provide high currents required for starting? vice versa for starter batteries.
The ebay ones are cheap enough, 2 year warranty you can return them if they die before then. If you buy two one for starter and one for leisure you can swap them over every year to even out the aging.

  5. scote
They look good ,thanks i'll take a look .

 maybe a bulk buy on batteries ? LoL

Would you have to upgrade the wiring to cope with the higher currents ?

  6. I've bought 85Amp Hour batteries for £25 from breakers and they've lasted for at least 4 years. In Halfords they sell for way over £100 :)

  7. Thanks guys for all your replies
Got a few places to a look at now ;D and if i go the heated windscreen route then I'm gonna need a better bigger battery !
