Now on here somewhere, I have no doubt, will be a band review thread, but in true Row form I am in a rush so going to start a new one. Should we have a pinned band review thread ( if there is not one already) - between all we must see one hell of a lot of bands. I am off tonight to see Ugly Kid Joe and Skid Row ( yes that's the true reason behind this thread I just wanted to say I am going rockin ' !) Excited much yes I am ! But recently have seen Killer Tomatoes -Brilliant ! Sex Pistols- Excellent cover band, well worth a look up Floating Greyhounds - as always a timeless classic of a cover band , always a pleasure to watch Hotwired - if you love punk this is the band for you , I don't love punk but all the guys in this band rock and its always a good night ! (please pay royalities to Row's camper fund .............yea the lead singer is a mate of mine ) ( seen loads more at the shows etc and of course over the years but the above are the last couple of months) Have a great day everyone I am off to annoy my team by bouncing about all day and asking what time it is , finish at 4 ! Row xxxx
Might bump into you tonight then! Ukj were brilliant at download last year. Not so sure about skid row minus Bach. But it's going to be awesome. We used to do quite a few gigs with the floating greyhounds nice bunch who play good tunes!
Saw the Killers at Wembley stadium back in the summer. They were Awesome. Going to watch Beady Eye in wolves on monday night. And got the Happy Mondays in Brum to look fwd to in December.
So ukj were awesome as usual. Their new stuff not so great, butcher classics more than made up for ut. Still got my reservations about skid row, they're one of my favourite bands and I saw them Back in the 90s and I also saw Bach solo last year When their singer walked on I thought it was a bit of a joke! He looked like he had no teeth and was too uncool to pull off being a frontman. They improved as the night went on and he struggled with a few of the high notes but all round it was a good show Support act who hopefully @Row will remind me of were really good, even if they were Australian!
@dog ...................it was blooming packed ! My friend whipped numerous people with her hair moshing, her hair is waste lenght.......................I stood , looked mean, drank lots of lager, smoked out the back, now regretting drinking said lager ! Good night though and I agree with you on your points ..................cant remember the support band name either will google it later. I was disappointed with some of UKJ newer stuff and Skid Row did not rock as much as they used to .........I think the waterfront were pushing it with the amount of people shoe horned in there !
Saw Arctics at the )2 last week - very good. Check out Young Aviators and The Computers - YA are a rocky irish three piece. The Computers are rockabilly punk rockers
Saw New Order on their first tour, just after Ian Curtis had died. Bloody boring. Didn't come on until well after midnight, played 40 minutes, never spoke. Dull, dull, dull. More reviews of utterly boring old bands are available.
Why do you need new bands? Everyone knows rock attained perfection in 1974. It's a scientific fact. Homer Simpson (Philosopher)
I saw Lamb of God and Slayer this year at Bloodstock. Needless to say they were awesome if you like heavier music that is!!!
Slayer are always awesome, even if they are all oap's now! Lamb of god I've never taken too, just doesn't seem to be any hook in their songs like slayer has
I'm of to see billet for my valentine in dec, recently went to see bring me the horizon who were awesome live, although too many kids there, felt like I was an oap!!!
You wait for bullet then buddy coven more kids lol Seen them a few times at download and they're good live. They seemed a bit too comfortable last year IMO. As if they don't need to try as hard any more cos they've made it! Be interesting to hear how they are at one of their own gigs I'm off to see 30 STM with you me at six on Friday. Proper looking forward to that one
I've got tickets to 30 secs too, although since hearing their new album not too sure what to make!! Got tickets for Nottingham. Yea really looking forwards to bullet thought they would attract the older people too though!!
Yea that's what I thought but I can't seem to pull away from my rock and metal enough to diversify into that although I keep trying!! But I just get withdrawals from a good old guitar riff!!
They still play all their awesome anthems. And Jared's voice is still awesome! Just as you said. A bit hard to accept change
Best gig I ever went to was back in 1982 back in the day "The Only Band That Mattered" best band of their generation and a few after as well. The Clash
