Having dropped out all my balljoints and cleaned and painted the arms is there a right and wrong way to refit them, i have read that they need to be fitted from the underneath, but how do i know which is the under side now?
    Thanks

What i should have said was im fitting new balljoints so is there a right or wrong way fitting them to the arms

  3. yes, arms are not sided so you may end up with two left lower arms.

The arms are trailing (the bent bit faces the back), just lay them out so you can see what goes where, the top arm has the bump stop pad, bottom has the damper bolt – and yes the ball joints fit from the bottom and the two cut outs must be front and rear.

The arms aren’t sides so if you put one in the top and one in the bottom of the other you will have 2 pairs made

You can completely snafu the ball joints by pressing them in a few degrees rotated. Make really sure the notches and tabs line up as either you will have wierd knocking noises or the front wheel falls off when the ball joint shears the ball from the stem of the joint..
