the monkeys and apes - they evolved but at the same time kept that particular identity. Sharks, for example were saltwater creatures & in Australia, some got swept inland during a flood & when the floodwater subsided, they got left behind in a dam which was mostly freshwater. They evolved & could then survive in freshwater & since then, the sharks have been found miles inland in waters on the Missisipi river in America
