Backpeddling, another EU thread

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Dicky, Jun 24, 2016.

  1. Im beginning to get it now. Despite the referendum not being about immigration every brexit voter interviewed so far on tv that ive seen has mentioned it as their reason for voting out. The politicians are saying it wasnt about immigration.

The money we were going to build hospitals and schools with doesnt exist because it was actually a much smaller amount than stated and will get swallowed up in the beurocracy of leaving.

We cant negotiate untill we have a new pm and theres a possibility of an election? Wtf, what if no party has leave in their manifesto other than ukip. Lol. But if we do have a new PM?

Its all interesting stuff. It was about immigration it seems. Did they ask the wrong question cos we clearly gave the wrong answer.

Other than that its as if someones taken every issue for the last 100 years and shaken it up and everyones questioning it. I guess its like a snow shaker and the isuues will float around and look interesting for a bit and then everyting will settle and it will sit on the shelf for a bit. Whats gonna get fixed or will it be business as usual.

I'm more worried about what the result shows about the rise of the far right across Europe. Oh well, England, that's what you voted for. Not worried for me, worried for ny son and daughter who will have to reap the sh1t that has been sewn. Good night folks. Take care out there. Will take my custom elsewhere I think.

This referendum that the toadies put into their election manifesto. Who asked them to?

These misleading ' facts' from Brexit. Was that legal?

even i'm bored of this now, i'm away for a bit until you all start talking about tits or vans again, most forums i use have 1 thread going on the e.u. and they're over it now.... what happened to no politics? bring back the old admin/mods.

  7. Yep, ^this. My kids are stunned. Biggest act of collective lunacy, certainly in my lifetime. And as @poptop2 says, completely unnecessary.

  8. Yep it was mainly the older generation who really aren't the future and want the good old days back of rationing and black and white TV.

Still playing the "out are racist" card I see.
As the BBC were so clearly biased throughout the whole campaign, have you stopped to consider they choose which interviews to air?
At the end of the day out won, so stop bleating on about it. More people didn't share your opinion than did so they got their wish. That's democracy in action.

    This was not an election.
There were no manifestos or election promises.
    It was one simple question.
    Both sides wanted to win.
There was no reason not to lie through their teeth, no pledges to be kept to afterwards as nobody was elected and no major UK political capital to be gained as the main parties were on the same side.

One question, in or out, no holes barred. To still be focussing on the other side lying is niave in the extreme. Both sides lied big fat lies. That's politics.

"Why is this lying toad lying to me?"
"To get to the other side"
    Something like that.

Do you think that we could make this the last new thread on the subject please - there's plenty of others to comment on :hattip:

i'd go as far as locking them all bar one - it's tedious.

    Why?
If people want to talk about it, and can do so without kicking off (which they've done bloody well so far on the subject), I'd have thought they can start as many threads as they want. No-one has to read them.

How many threads have we got on "which oil should I use?" "When is Techenders?" Etc.
    This is no different.

Impressive lack of kicking off, I would agree.

Because apparently "it always kicks off".
    A) these ones haven't
    B) the subject is the biggest event for decades. Censoring it is ridiculous and would reflect really badly in the forum. This isn't peppapiglovers.co.uk; we're adults.

Although I accept that anything with "piglovers" in the title is badly phrased in this context...
