Best option in a conti is front hammock as said above. Contis are useless for families in my opinion if you dont have the bunk. Roof bed is too small to be useful and limits movement significantly and theres just tooo much furniture in there and no floorspace so a cot is out of the question.
Another vote for cab hammock and tent style travel cot. Rumour has it that @Baysearcher is too scared to drill the holes in the van to mount his cab hammock for little Alfie so has to go camping in a travelodge.
The hire company have confirmed there is no cab bunk, we'll try the ready bed and if it doesn't work a travel cot in the awning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's a shame because for less than £100 they could have fitted one and have another option for would be hirers .. Short sighted I think
With any luck it'll work out ok and not put the missus off buying our own camper - will make sure it has a cab bunk when we do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So did we confirm its a front hinge van? If it's a rear hinge then upstairs is huge and suitable for adults, I'd go with @rickyrooo1's suggestion.
where are you based mate? You can borrow our cab bunk while you test it if you like? I'm based in Sheffield but am driving down to Bedfordshire on Friday if that's any good? I recommend cab bunk too btw!
I'm in Fareham. This is the van we're hiring: http://www.newforestsafari.com/campers/berry/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks for the offer, no idea whether they even have the fittings for a cab bunk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
if they have the bus, ask them, or if you have it have a look on the a and b pillars for about 10mm holes, they may have rubber bungs in them, if they're there, it has them
