  3. Details of the aircraft

PB4Y-1 Liberator 63926 crashed on the 28th of December 1943. This PB4Y-1 belonged US Navy unit VB-110 It crashed onto the moorland whilst mounting an anti-shipping strike from Dunkeswell.

  4. I like that, nowhere to put it though.

  5. Can you supply a copy of the permission you obviously have for removing parts from a war grave.
10 crew died in the accident, and you really should not be trying to sell the item.
    Tony

  6. It was recovered before 1986, before the PMRA act came into force when permission wasn't required, a percentage of the sale is being donated to a local allied aircrew memorial.

  8. I'd also like to add that over the years the MOD has denied me permission to recover aircraft remains from crash sites due the fact there are crew members still listed as missing at the said crash site, so ok fair enough, however after researching these incidents and sometimes it takes years to pinpoint these crash sites, something the MOD should be doing to recover the remains of these Allied airmen and repatriate them to their respective countries for a proper and decent burial and give surviving family members closure, the MOD are quite happy to decline a licence to recover them and leave them in an unmarked grave, of which there are MANY.
    Hence proceedes go towards memorials.

  10. Hats off to you mate. I had 2 family members in unrecognised graves in Gallipolli for more than half a century until they were stumbled upon. If I could do it justice id have it off you.

However, with my type 4 hoard it already looks like I have a crashed Lancaster in the back garden

  11. This tail fin was stolen from a store in torquay some years ago. It should not be offered for sale. The vendors claims of his involvement with the recovery are absolute claptrap!

  12. Hmmm

The plot thickens - any comeback from @pyratwoody007 ??
    That`s a pretty bold accusation !
