Awning help

  1. Not sure if anyone else has this issue but when I open my sliding door when the awning isattached, the leading corner of the door catches the awning and has ripped it. the only way to avoid it is to open the door to about 40cm and squeeze out and lift the awning over the corner of the door. I can't move the awning any further along so has anyone come up with an ingenious device to help the door slide past?

Yes. Don't attach the awning to the bus. I tend to park away from the awning so it stands as another shelter.

  3. put a hand towel over the corner of the slider. not tried it yet but will be next weekend with my new awning - guess what happened to my old one :(

  4.
  5. move the awning back a bit on the van

    What awning is it?
I did that first time we attached our khyam - now we attach it with the slider fully open so we can get the positioning right. It needs to join just to the front of the vent on ours.

  7. Lift the poles nearest to the van higher. :)

  11. Our awning doesn't cover when the door slides back fully so, I opened the door a bit so its near the awning poked a small hole and tied the awning back out of the way. You've also not got to peg the lower part too close to the bus or the swage line will catch too.. I've tried various methods using bungycords, strips over the door but, this works best for that early morning toilet run ;).
Dont poke it in the roof part I chose a bit between two seams. its a bit drastic but, works fine.
