    Hi Guys
Checked my ATF today cold and the level is about 2cm above top mark on dipstick.
Took her for a 10 mile drive to check when warm as bentley manual says put in N with engine idling and absolutely nothing shows on the dipstick.
When I had the engine and gearbox out a few months ago I totally drained the lot then re filled with 2.5L Dexron.
Do I add more is my question?

The manual you’ve shown seems to suggest 2.5?as a starting point… hence top up as necessary.
I’d put a small amount in and repeat test/check.

  4. As its .23 litre between min and max. Put that in at a time you can't go wrong until its at minimum

Fantastic idea, although I'd sort of give up on it.
Today, I've put 1/4 of a ltr in, and it's still not showing on the dipstick

It’s easy enough to drain some out

Is the dipstick the right type/length?

Update chucked loads of atf fluid in probably 1/2ltr it started to show on the dipstick after a drive not had this before but I found out its leaking from the bottom of the sump gasket (which is brand new) I did torque it to the correct torque when I fitted it but alas it's leaking.
I've given the four bolts a little nip up then took her out for another drive doesn't appear to be leaking anymore re checked dipstick level and again nothing shows on it with the engine idling and the stick in N.
I've run out of ATF fluid now, so I will have to wait until my order turns up.

  14. Did you put the dipstick in?
    The dipstick out?
    In, Out, In, Out
    Then shake it all about?

That what it says in Bentley.

  15. In the Appendix, it said to Turn Around as well. Might be the problem.

Apparently if over torque it bends the sump plate (Around the bolts) making it leak. Not the best design.

it’s the same for rocker covers too, all the Tin ones leak if not correctly torqued, plenty of folks tighten them a bit to stop Leah’s but make um much worse

    Leah’s drip or leak :)

  20. On my T3, it starts using ATF because the seal between the gearbox and differential was leaking, dumping the ATF into the differential which leaked through the driveshaft seal.
I found it was common issue past 160.000km. Gowesty has some good advices regarding automatic gearbox.
