I find it quite hard to check the ATF level. When the engine and gearbox were out, I completely drained the fluid and then put 3ltrs in. When everything was back together and the engine was eventually running, ok, thanks to you I re checked it following the instructions, but every time, the reading looked different. My 79 010 has the instructions on the dipstick saying to check the level when warm and idling in N - slightly different to above.
